The mothers of Witnesses to Hunger joined Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (PA), in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, May 6 for a reception highlighting the Witnesses to Hunger exhibit.

The exhibit is on display in the rotunda of the Russell Senate Building by invitation of Senator Casey. The Philadelphia Inquirer ran a front-page story about the event.

Two Witnesses, Barbara Izquierdo and Tianna Gaines, spoke at the reception, as did Senator Casey, Senator Arlen Specter (PA), and Senator Tom Harkin (Iowa, Chair of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee). The mothers were also able to meet with Congressman Jim McGovern (MA), the co-chair of the Congressional Hunger Caucus.
