In the past two weeks, the Drexel women’s basketball team became EuroDragons, playing four games against professional teams in three different countries.
The women’s basketball team’s 10-day foreign tour took them to the Netherlands, Belgium, and France to play friendlies against professional teams, help grow the game of women’s basketball in Europe, and learn about the local and national culture.
Off the floor, the Dragons were Drexel ambassadors for alums living or working abroad, and for entering freshman that we met during two receptions in Ghent, Belgium and Paris, France.
International competition allows teams like Drexel to get an invaluable head start on competitive game experience and team unity. It’s a great recruiting tool and international travel presents great cultural and educational opportunities for student-athletes. The value of the experience was evident as the team jelled from game to game, finishing an undefeated 4-0 against increasingly formidable competition.
Check out below some of the scenes as the team made its way through Western Europe.
