Kristy Jost, of the Shima Lab, earned first place in the Posters & Graphics category--as well as the People's Choice award--in the NSF's International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge for her entry, "Wearable Power." The poster depicts her research (along with that of doctoral student Babak Anasori and postdoctoral research associate Majid Beidaghi) in transforming carbon materials into wearable energy storage devices. According to Genevieve Dion in an interview by DrexelNow, “‘Wearable Power’ not only depicts the necessary science needed to create smart garments, it also points to the numerous challenges designers face in the implementation of such concepts, highlighting the need for multidisciplinary team work."

Jost was also featured in a graphic created by The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (pictured left). The graphic is part of a recently launched city marketing campaign called "PHL: Here for the Making," which aims to draw visitors to Philadelphia by highlighting its innovators.
