Loni Philip Tabb, PhD, an associate professor of Biostatistics in the department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University, has been named an Under 40 Emerging Scholar by Diverse Issues in Higher Education. She was selected for “making her mark in the academy through teaching, research, and service.” The Diverse Issues award is intended to honor young scholars who represent the future of the academy and “serve as an inspiration to both students and colleagues.”

Tabb, a Philadelphia native, returned to the city after earning her MA and PhD in biostatistics at Harvard University to apply her skills to gain a better understanding of the many challenges to community health she saw growing up in Philadelphia’s inner city. Overall, she is interested in how location effects health in all types of communities.
