Drexel Faculty Receives Award for Contributions to Quality of Online Education
November 30, 2016
Raymond Lum, MPhil, MS, director of E-Learning and associate teaching professor of Health Management and Policy in the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University, received the 2016 Director’s Award for Exceptional Service from Quality Matters, a leader in quality assurance for online education, at the organization’s annual conference in November.
The Award for Exceptional Service is presented to members of the Quality Matters community who have gone above and beyond common service to the organization. These individuals have made extraordinary contributions to Quality Matters’ quality assurance efforts with online and/or blended education at institutions, and for learners. In addition to Dr. Lum, the 2016 recipients include JJ Johnson of Pierce College District and Elizabeth McMahon of Minnesota Online Quality Initiative.
Quality Matters is an international non-profit organization that provides the quality standards, professional development, course and program review, and certification for quality assurance in online learning.
“The national recognition of Ray’s leadership is an impressive achievement for him and for Drexel,” said Yvonne Michael, ScD, associate dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs in the Dornsife School of Public Health.
