FEMA-Funded Fellows Spend Summer Interrogating Fire Service Safety Data

July 27, 2016

Seven students and alumni are taking part in Dornsife's inaugural Fire service Injury Research, Epidemiology and Evaluation (FIRE) fellowship, supported by the FEMA Assistance to Fire Grants R&D program. FIRE fellows are spending 12 weeks collecting and analyzing sets of fire service safety data in partnership with Dornsife's Firefighter Injury Research and Safety Trends program (FIRST), led by Jennifer A. Taylor, associate professor of Environmental and Occupational Health. The group recently met with Philadelphia’s new Fire Commissioner, Adam Thiel (pictured third from left) on the 6th floor of Nesbitt Hall.
