March 17, 2014
Igor Burstyn, PhD, an associate professor, was the first author of the article “Maternal exposure to bisphenol-a and fetal growth restriction: a case-referent study,” which was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
Coauthors on this article include Drs. Jonathan W. Martin, Sanjay Beesoon, and Fiona Bamforth from the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at The University of Alberta, Drs. Qiaozhi Li and Yutaka Yasui from the School of Public Health at The University of Alberta, and Dr. Nicola M. Cherry from the Division of Preventive Medicine at The University of Alberta, Canada.
This article discusses a case-referent study of the effect of exposure to bisphenol-A on fetal growth in utero in full-term, live-born singletons in Alberta, Canada, and their results did not support the hypothesis that bisphenol-A contributes to fetal growth restriction in full-term singletons.
