Selection Committee

Applications to the Dornsife Global Development Scholars program selection committee go through a three-part application review.

First review: The Dornsife Global Development Scholars selection committee reviews eligible applications to ensure that students:

  • Demonstrate relevant experience, knowledge and skills;
  • Exhibit the ability to connect academic matriculation with the general needs of improving health outcomes in resource-limited communities;
  • Express interest of global health as it relates to the UN SDG global agenda and the World Vision WASH priorities; and
  • Demonstrate understanding of the current state of global health and international development in low-income settings.

Second review: World Vision regional leadership, national directors, and field staff review applications and select the applicants best suited for the available country projects.

Third review: The Dornsife Global Development Scholars Program leadership will identify the matches between the applicant's preferred projects and World Vision priorities. Decisions will be announced in a formal acknowledgement sent to applicants by email before the winter break.
