A new Drexel Dragon

September 1, 2026

As the start of the academic year approaches, incoming Drexel students in the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education will have the opportunity to meet their new classmates, faculty and staff during College Day, Tuesday, September 15.

This year’s College Day will offer a new format designed to introduce students to their academic communities while also giving them an early peek into Drexel’s experiential learning opportunities, which are central to the University’s curriculum.

The day will begin with a Welcome Breakfast from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., where first-year students and transfer students from the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education will be able to meet their new colleagues and connect with members of the Drexel community.

Following breakfast, students will head to their respective programs for Academic Sessions from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Here, faculty and staff will introduce students to their departments, provide an overview of their academic programs, and discuss expectations for participating in their academic community. This will also be a time where students can connect with their classmates and professors.

After lunch, the day will shift towards hands-on learning. From 1 to 3 p.m., students will participate in Experiential Learning with their departments, offering an opportunity to explore how their classroom experiences will connect to real-world situations. The sessions will emphasize exploration, interdisciplinary learning, and building skills that will help guide them through their academic journey at Drexel.

With the opportunity to meet classmates, connect with faculty and staff, and get a glimpse of what their classes may be like, College Day is designed to help students begin to find their footing in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education.
