Dragons Design With Dragons for the 2023 Drexel Cap Contest

June 20, 2023

Gold glitter on both ends of the four-photo square grid showing, from clockwise, "Drexel Cap Contest," an image of a graduate with yellow and green dragon wings on a cap, a photo of someone holding a cap with a gold dragon figurine, and a photo of someone holding a cap with the bedazzled dragons logo over black and white photos.

The winners of this year's Drexel Cap Contest showed off a lot of creativity, imagination, resourcefulness and dragons. Yes, dragons. Of course, dragons.

The three members of Drexel University's Class of 2023 incorporated a bedazzled Drexel Athletics logo, a 3D golden dragon figurine and even extended wings onto their graduation caps before submitting photos of their designs on Instagram.

Per the contest rules, they used the hashtags of both #DrexelCapContest and #ForeverDragons to post the photo by June 12. The winners received Drexel swag and the prestigious title of a victor of this year's commencement cap decorating contest.

The Class of 2023 is also the fifth class to participate in the Cap Contest, which started in 2018. The annual competition was put on hold in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 both participated when they were both honored at Drexel's 2021 Commencement.

Congratulations to the winners, listed below, and to all the participants for their cap creativity and for capping off their experience at Drexel!
