Boren Awards Application Workshop

Come learn about the Boren Awards and for international language study and get started on your application! 
 
Mr. Stuart Karaffa, Research Specialist at the National Security Education Program, will facilitate a workshop on the Boren program.

Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide generous funding for undergraduate and graduate students who are planning to study abroad in world regions critical to U.S. interests, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. This workshop will include an overview of Boren, along with information about how to craft a competitive application.
 
Mr. Karaffa, a graduate of the University of Illinois, studied intensive Mandarin Chinese in Beijing with funding from a Boren Scholarship in 2007-2008. He has worked for the Department of Defense since 2011.
