Developing an Effective 30-Second Commercial

An essential part of your job search preparation is a well-developed 30-Second Commercial, also known as your Elevator Speech. Your 30-Second Commercial is the answer to “Tell me about yourself” and is your first opportunity to gain a potential employer’s interest. You will need your 30-Second Commercial for job interviews, career fairs, and employer meet-and-greets.

The Steinbright Career Development Center will host a presentation on developing your 30-Second Commercial. The basics of a good commercial and assistance with getting started on your speech will be provided.
