ChocAmo's Cookie Cups are exactly what they sound like - a cookie in the shape of a cup. This unique snack time experience transforms the traditional way of eating classic cookies and milk. Michelle Silberman, Chief Cookie Officer of ChocAmo Cookie Cups, envisioned this spin on one of her favorite snacks in seventh grade. During her entrepreneurship classes at Drexel University, she was able to pursue and transform her idea.
Equipped with entrepreneurial knowledge and steadfast spirit, ChocAmo, a hybrid between chocolate and amor, was born.
You may have seen these unique treats in the Whole Foods Market on Pennsylvania Ave. or catering a local event. The continuous increase in popularity lead the Chief Cookie Officer to plan the next phase of her snack time revolution.
In the beginning of November, Silberman launched a Kickstarter campaign. The goal was to earn $18,000 to help purchase new production equipment for Cookie Cups. ChocAmo received an outpour of assistance and encouragement from the Philadelphia community during the month-long campaign. The small business earned $20,315 with 305 backers in support of its development!
So, what’s the next for ChocAmo?
“Our team is aiming to expand the reach of the product regionally now, and then embark on national growth in mid 2017,” said Silberman. “We would like to stock the shelves of every Whole Foods, liquor store, coffee shop and become the centerpiece dessert of any special occasion.”
Congratulations to Michelle Silberman and the rest of the ChocAmo team! We’re excited to see what ChocAmo has in store in the upcoming year.
