Baiada Announces Concept Paper Competition Winners
Three teams win big in annual business concept contest

The Baiada Institute for Entrepreneurship has announced the winners of its annual Concept Paper Competition.
This year, 70 teams submitted entries for a coveted spot in the top three. The winning teams were award cash prizes, including $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place.
The three winning teams included:
First place: White Light Medical, LLC, a startup medical device company that has developed a low-cost surgical probe — called AccuSpine —for the accurate placement of screws in spinal fusion surgeries.
Team Members included Akanksha Mittal of Drexel University’s College of Arts & Sciences.
Second place: Shower Assist by Beneficial Health. Shower Assist is a bath accessory company for elderly and disabled individuals who lack the physical capacity to cleanse their backs while using a shower chair. The company produces shower chair covers to help individuals wash their backs without additional assistance.
Team Members included Adria Bonaccorsi, Samantha Eddins, Rachel Jackson and Alexandra French — all from Drexel’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design.
Third place: Surpl, a concert ticket overstock vendor, available through both a mobile app and Web experience, that connects live music lovers of all ages with local music events with both convenience and cost effectiveness.
Team members included William Lindsay, also from Drexel’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design.
