Graduation and Commencement Congratulations! You are nearing the completion of your graduate degree. Below is a checklist to help you stay organized. Apply for graduation at the beginning of the term before you are planning to complete your degree. If you don't do this important step, you will not be eligible for priority registration which applies to the first day of registration only. Visit the Drexel Central website for instructions. If you want to know if your Application for Degree form has been received visit DrexelOne and select the "Academics" tab. There is an option to view your application(s). If you will not be completing your degree requirements by the spring term, you can still walk in the graduation ceremony if you are within 2 courses of completing the degree and will satisfy requirements by the subsequent summer term. Information about participating in the graduation ceremony can be be found on the Drexel Central Commencement webpage. Resolve any INC (Incomplete), INP (In Progress) or NGR (No Grade) grades on your academic record. You cannot be cleared to graduate with these pending grades on your record. You must obtain at least a 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point average (GPA) in order to be approved to graduate. You must also have completed a minimum of 15 courses and 45 credits. No grade lower than a C in a graduate class can count toward your graduation requirements. Have you checked DrexelOne to make sure your mailing address is accurate? You will not receive important information about graduation if this is not correct. Spring commencement information is mailed in January and a brochure is mailed in mid-March. Have you resolved any holds which currently appear on your academic record? A student who has been issued a HOLD cannot graduate until the HOLD has been removed. A diploma cannot be issued with a HOLD on a student account. Is your student financial account in good standing? Drexel Central is located on the first floor of the Main Building on Chestnut Street. For more information, please visit the financial aid section of the Drexel Central website Have you picked up your graduation cap and gown at the Drexel Bookstore? For details, call the Bookstore at 215.895.2861 or visit the Drexel Bookstore's website. You will be issued tickets for the ceremony upon picking up your cap and gown. When will I receive my diploma? Information on diploma pick up and mailing can be found on the Drexel Central website When will I know my degree has been cleared? Once your advisor has cleared you for graduation, you will receive an email confirming that your degree has been cleared. Note: The Master of Science in Library and Information Science is an undesignated MS Degree. Students completing this program will be awarded a diploma noting Master of Science only. In addition, concentrations and minors will not appear on your diploma, only on your academic transcript.
