Drexel CCI Highlights at Healthcare Informatics Symposium AMIA 2025

Drexel University’s College of Computing & Informatics made a strong showing at the AMIA 2025 Annual Symposium last month, led by a full paper presentation from PhD in information science graduate Katherine (Katie) Zellner, ‘25, with CCI Professor and Interim Associate Dean for Research Development Aleksandra Sarcevic, PhD, advancing AI-assisted clinical workflows in trauma resuscitation.

Contributing two posters were Drexel researchers advised by CCI Assistant Professor Rezvaneh (Shadi) Rezapour, PhD: one mapping stigma phenotypes in 1.03 million Reddit posts (presented by Layla Bouzoubaa, PhD candidate, with Elham Aghakhani, PhD student) and another co-authored by Aghakhani and Rezapour on PromptLog, a tool to enhance transparency in LLM-based research.

Rounding out the speakers, Yi Xuan Khoo, information science PhD student advised by CCI Professor and Information Science Department Head Helena Mentis, PhD, delivered a lightning talk at the affiliated WISH @ AMIA symposium on her PhD research: “Supporting AI-Driven Mental Health Application Users’ Privacy Decision.” These works underscore Drexel’s scholarship across clinical informatics, public health informatics and responsible AI.
