Two faculty members from Drexel University’s College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) were recently featured on NBC10 and Fox 29 Philadelphia news segments on ChatGPT — an artificial chatbot launched by OpenAI in fall 2022 — and its impact on the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and society.
Associate Professor of Information Science Rosina Weber, PhD was featured in Fox 29‘s live morning show “Good Day Philadelphia” discussing the ChatGPT platform and its effects on students and education. Weber’s main research interests are in converting unstructured data to benefit humans through text analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and explainable AI (XAI). Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Science Tim Gorichanaz, PhD was featured on a NBC 10 news segment discussing the meteoric rise of AI and the ethical implications of ChatGPT. Gorichanaz is an expert in human-computer interaction, the philosophy of information, digital affects information, Experience information behavior, and human centered design. Drexel CCI is proud to offer several academic programs in the area of AI and machine learning. The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, offered online and on campus, is designed for professionals who are interested in building on their existing quantitative skills to become leaders in the field.
The College also offers graduate certificate programs in AI & Machine Learning and Applied AI and Machine Learning for Data Science. These certificates can be combined with other certificate and courses offered at CCI to create Master of Science degrees, allowing students to customize their education to better meet their career goals.
