Drexel CCI Faculty and Students at 2022 ALISE and ASIS&T Conferences

Several faculty and students from Drexel University’s College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) are presenting and participating in the ALISE 2022 Annual Conference and ASIS&T 85th Annual Meeting: 

ALISE (Oct. 24 to 26)

  • Associate Professor Alex Poole, PhD is serving as co-editor of ALISE conference proceedings
  • Deborah Garwood, PhD ‘21 (Advisor: Alex Poole, PhD) received the 2022 ALISE Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Award
  • On Wednesday, Oct. 26, Professor Denise Agosto, PhD and Gabrielle Salib, PhD ‘22 presented in Youth Services SIG on “Empowering Community, Inclusion, and Active Citizenship through Libraries”
  • Gabrielle Salib, PhD ‘22 is also presenting her dissertation work for the ALISE/Jean Tague Sutcliffe Doctoral Student Research Poster Competition (Oct. 22)

ASIS&T (Oct. 29 to Nov. 1)

  • Alex Poole, PhD is serving on the Publications Committee and the 2023 Annual Meeting Program Committee.
  • Poole is also the recipient of the 2022 Dr. Bob Williams History Fund Research Grant Award, which will help fund his project, “From ADI to the iField: The Association for Information Science and Technology, 1937-2022.”

Monday, Oct. 31

  • Alex Poole, PhD will be presenting his paper “Nailing Jelly to the Wall: Teaching Technology in North American Graduate Archival Education Programs” (11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Paper Session 10: Education in the Information Sciences)
  • Alice B. Kroeger Professor and Metadata Research Center Director Jane Greenberg, PhD is a panelist in “Storied Past, Bright Future: A Provenance Jam Session" (11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
