Three CCI Alumni Named Among Drexel’s 2021 '40 Under 40'

The Drexel 40 Under 40 program, published in Drexel Magazine, annually recognizes some of the University’s most promising, entrepreneurial, creative and inspiring alumni.

Three College of Computing & Informatics alumni – Kamelia Aryafar, Tom Rowinski and Jason Rowinski – were selected for this year’s class in recognition of their professional success, community involvement and all-around amazingness.

Kamelia Aryafar

Kamelia Aryafar, PhD computer science ’15 and MS computer science ’10, currently serves as director and engineering head of Retail Solutions in Google Cloud Artificial Intelligence (AI), where she leads a team of engineers who use applied AI techniques, machine learning, computer vision and pattern recognition to optimize each customer’s journey. Passionate about supporting women in STEM fields and helping at-risk youth, she serves on several boards, including The Jed FoundationWomen of Middle East and North American (MENA) in Technology, and Santa Clara University Retail Management Institute. Jason and Tom Rowinski

Tom Rowinski, BS information science and technology ’09, and Jason Rowinski, MS information science and technology ’06, are brothers and partners in a custom software company, JTR Solutions, that they started while attending CCI. The company, of which Tom is CEO and Jason is chief technology officer, serves as an incubator for the software ideas they dream up, including solutions applicable to drone automation, smart alerting technology and various APIs-as-a-service.
