Ngan Phan Receives Philadelphia Philanthropic Society for Information Management Foundation’s Scholarship

Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) undergraduate student Ngan Phan received a $2,000 scholarship from the Philadelphia Chapter of the Society of Information Management (SIM Philadelphia) through their Philadelphia Philanthropic Society for Information Management Foundation (PHSIM).

Phan, an information systems major, was nominated by CCI faculty members for her exceptional achievements in the classroom. She was honored for her achievements at the SIM Philadelphia chapter dinner on April 4.

Phan hopes to continue her studies by earning an MBA, with a concentration in information systems, so that she can “help organizations implement IT solutions to achieve their technology and business objectives.” She would like to pursue a career in information systems management, which would allow her to utilize both her business and technological skills.

Phan plans to participate in several professional development programs in addition to her studies at Drexel, such as the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) program, and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) program. While these programs were previously cost-prohibitive for Phan, the PHSIM scholarship has enabled her to pursue these opportunities and more.
