CCI Celebrates National Library Week April 13-19, 2014

April 14, 2014

This week the College celebrates and recognizes the powerful and positive impact that libraries and librarians have on the lives of many on a daily basis. We encourage you to help celebrate National Library Week (NLW) by participating online and/or in person in the following ways:

All Week, Online – Share Your Story
Tell your story on how the library has changed your life on Twitter by using hashtag #LivesChange and #NLW14. Need more than 140 characters? Add your story to the NLW library story collection here: http://atyourlibrary.org/librarystories. Share what your library means to you during NLW and you could win a Kindle Fire from the American Library Association!

All Week, Online – Follow NLW on Social Media
Follow CCI’s Facebook and/or Twitter pages for updates and NLW-related information all week!

Monday, April 14 to Saturday, April 19 – Philadelphia Book Festival
Join the Free Library of Philadelphia for a celebration of literacy and the arts at the eighth annual Philadelphia Book Festival! This beloved celebration continues with events at neighborhood libraries throughout the city, along with headlining author events in the Parkway Central Library’s Montgomery Auditorium during National Library week from April 14-19, 2014. The Book Festival now stretches into every Philadelphia community, ensuring that book worms and literacy lovers from across the city can get in on the fun! Headlining authors that will appear throughout the week at Parkway Central include Debbie Macomber, Barbara Ehrenreich, and Pat and Gina Neely. Visit https://libwww.freelibrary.org/bookfestival/ for more information on events.

Tuesday, April 15, Online - National Library Workers Day (NLWD)
NLWD is a day for library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.
