MS in Health Informatics
Drexel’s Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program provides students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds with the knowledge of how to use information technology
efficiently and responsibly to improve health outcomes. The mission of the MSHI program is to advance national healthcare goals by preparing health informatics professionals to exercise leadership in an increasingly patient-centered and data-driven environment. The program pursues this mission by offering an interdisciplinary, broad-based curriculum that encourages engagement with industry and fosters both research-based and experiential learning.
- Introduces students to the rapidly changing field of health informatics, enabling them to acquire the knowledge and skills to compete for newly-emerging positions
- Draws on the strengths of partner Colleges at Drexel University, including the College of Nursing and Health Professions, Dornsife School of Public Health and LeBow College of Business
- MSHI graduates leave Drexel with an understanding of both information systems and healthcare delivery that complements their prior education and experience, and are prepared to work in informatics-related positions in hospitals, primary care, industry, government and academia
- Students may pursue a dual degree program by combining the MSHI with any other CCI graduate degree program
Drexel's MSHI degree program is in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Drexel University's educational programs are accredited by MSCHE (Middle States Commission on Higher Education).
