Undergraduate Studies

The philosophy of the undergraduate curriculum is to provide Environmental Science majors with field experience, early and often. The program is designed to promote a multidisciplinary science-based approach in areas that cover organisms to ecosystems, the past to the present. The current research extends from mechanisms of ecological processes to applied conservation work, as well as systematic biology and paleontology.  The department and its faculty are focused on providing hands-on experiences in basic and applied research, beginning before the freshmen term with a weeklong stay at Barnegat Bay in New Jersey.
