National Autism Indicators Reports 2020 and 2021
January 24, 2022
Since 2015, the National Autism Indicators Reports (NAIR) have communicated the research findings of the Life Course Outcomes (LCO) research program in a series of online reports designed to make the information as accessible as possible. Over the past two years, LCO published four NAIR reports. Children on the Autism Spectrum and Family Financial Hardship discussed the financial hardship among families of children with autism and their participation in various safety net programs, and Health and Health Care highlighted that, though autistic people can have many health concerns and complex healthcare needs, comprehensive care is less common in children on the spectrum than their peers. In Family Perspectives on Services and Supports, our researchers detailed the needs for supports and services for families of youth and adults on the autism spectrum. Mental Health, the most recent NAIR, documents the barriers individuals and families face when trying to access mental health care.
