The Drexel Business Inclusion Center Hosts Aramark Hiring Event

Over 30 job seekers with autism and other disabilities secure employment

December 7, 2022

The Drexel Business Inclusion Center (BIC) hosted an Aramark hiring event on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, on Drexel’s campus where neurodiverse individuals interviewed for a variety of postions and received on-the-spot job offers. The event was a resounding success, attracting nearly 100 job seekers. At least 30 of them secured employment and were able to start on-boarding for their new jobs on the spot. At Drexel University, many Aramark positions across departments were filled.

Job seekers were offered Aramark positions at Temple University, La Salle University, Widener University, Saint Joseph’s University, Cheyney University, and West Chester University. The Drexel BIC arranged access for participants to have on-site fingerprinting, benefits counseling, job coaches, as well as additional support. This removed any delays or barriers to completing the on-boarding process for the new hires.

The Drexel Business Inclusion Center (BIC) develops programs and strategies to build businesses’ capacity to hire, train, and retain neurodiverse talent. The BIC makes it easier for businesses to access talent while providing customized solutions to small businesses and large corporations. The BIC is a collaboration of Transition Pathways and Community Integrated Services. Learn more at: drexel.edu/autisminstitute/bic
