Recreation Center Virtual Tour

The brand new Recreation Center is nearing completion as the close of 2009 approaches.  Click below for a video that will take you inside this 84,000 square-foot addition to the Daskalakas Athletic Center, and home to a three-story climbing wall, international sized squash courts, and two floors of more than 300 pieces of exercise equipment.

See a brand new gym made of maple hardwood floors and surrounded by a three-lane suspended indoor track for use year round, and check out two large group exercise rooms featuring aerobic flooring and surround sound. The video will also give you a sneak peak of Landmark Café, the brand new 7,000 square-foot restaurant in the Recreation Center. In addition to delicious food, guests will be able to enjoy Landmark Café’s outdoor seating and two fire pits.

In keeping with Drexel’s green initiatives, the glass and metal paneled Recreation Center eliminates the need for electric light in 87% of indoor space during the day.  As well, a rainwater reuse system will use storm water to reduce the amount of potable water used for toilet flushing.
