Before you begin, make sure your PC or Mac meets the system requirements.

Your temporary student license authorization code will be emailed to you once your SynthEyes registration data is processed.

Install and register SynthEyes

1. Download the SynthEyes Educational Build for your PC or Mac.
• Windows
• macOS

Important: If you're currently using the demo build of SynthEyes, you must first uninstall it before installing the latest educational build of SynthEyes.

2. Once the download has completed, follow the step-by-step instructions below to complete the installation for your device.

Install on a PC

1. Open File Explorer, go to Downloads, and double-click the SynEdu64Setup.exe file (the name might vary slightly).
If you see the Open File - Security Warning prompt that says, Do you want to run this file? select Run.
2. On the first installation screen, review the software license agreement.
3. Select I agree to the license terms and conditions to agree to the terms of the software license agreement, and then click Install.
If you see the User Account Control prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? select Yes.
4. The software begins to install. Click Close when the installation is finished.

Install on a Mac

1. Open Finder, go to Downloads, and double-click the SynEdu.dmg file (the name might vary slightly).
2. Double-click the SynEdu.pkg file (the name might vary slightly).
3. On the first installation screen, select Continue to begin the installation process.
4. Review the software license agreement, and then click Continue.
5. Select Agree to agree to the terms of the software license agreement.
6. Review the disk space requirements or change your install location, and then click Install.
7. Enter your Mac login password, if prompted, and then click Install Software.
8. The software begins to install. Click Close when the installation is finished.
3. Open the SynthEyes app to start the registration process.
4. On the registration information screen, enter the temporary educational serial number.
The temporary educational serial number is: student
5. Complete the remaining fields on the registration information screen, and then click Register.
6. Your registration data is copied to your clipboard. Paste the registration data into a message and email the data to your course instructor.

Activate SynthEyes

After you receive your authorization code, you can activate SynthEyes.

1. Copy the authorization code, including the opening parenthesis and closing parenthesis, from your email.
Example of a SynthEyes authorization code:

2. Open SynthEyes.
3. On the registration information screen, click Install License from Clipboard.
4. On the customer care login information screen, click Cancel, and then click OK to restart SynthEyes. SynthEyes is activated and ready to use.
