Screening "Whose Streets?" with Westphal Film & Television, BLACK Westphal and DU BASS

Thursday, May 20, 2021

6:30 PM-9:00 PM

Arranged as part of a collaboration between the Westphal Film & Television program, Black Westphal and DU Bass, this film screening program seeks to establish a conversation for BIPOC people using film to tell their stories. We aim to empower and educate students with the knowledge necessary to unpack what they see and challenge the often-negative representation of BIPOC in the media.

This Film Series is expected to take place over the course of several months encompassing a total of 4 films as part of the 1st series. The event would be replicated on Thursdays once a month moving forward through the end of the 2020-2021 academic year.

May 20, 2021: "Whose Streets?" (Run Time 1hr 43min)
available on Pluto Tv (free)

This virtual event will be held on the platform Kanopy, which can be accessed as a Philadelphia Library card holder. The process of becoming a library card holder is free and can be completed online (instructions for setup and establishment are available in the attached PDF). Upon signup you receive access to 4 movies per month as part of your Kanopy account. We would request that students save one of those movies a month for our presentations.
