(S)Heroes Among Us, part public art, part streaming live paint event, will feature three newly commissioned murals at 3401 Filbert Street in the yard of Drexel's Pearlstein Gallery. On October 18, 2020, three Philadelphia area artists, Priscilla Bell, Busta and Leon Rainbow, will paint murals to the sounds of a DJ informed by native music. Each mural will celebrate a female leader in an Indigenous community, from activists and matriarchs to icons. The event will be livestreamed on the Pearlstein's Twitch channel, and the mural will remain on view at least through the fall.
