Take an engaging look into the choreographic process  of Native feminist artist  Rosy Simas  (Seneca). Learn how Simas' practice of deep listening shapes movement, sound, and images for her work, and join in the conversation about art created through a Native lens.

About the artist:
Rosy Simas (Seneca) is the Director of Rosy Simas Danse based in Minneapolis.Simas is the recipient of a Creative Arts Fellowship for Choreography from the JohnSimon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, a McKnight Fellowship for Choreographersfrom the McKnight Foundation, and a Joyce Award from The Joyce Foundation. Simashas been honored by the Native community with a Native Arts and Cultures FoundationFellowship; a First Peoples Fund Fellowship; and residencies at the Banff CentreIndigenous Arts Program, All My Relations Arts, Full Circle Talking Stick Festival, and the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum of Contemporary Native Arts. Simas hashad solo exhibitions of her visual artwork at Abrons Arts Center in New York City, EdgeCenter for the Arts in Big Fork, Gimaajii-Mino-Bimaadizimin in Duluth, Mitchell Museumof the American Indian in Evanston, and All My Relations Arts in Minneapolis. She alsorecently co-edited the first Native issue of Movement Research Performance Journal.
