The New Express

June 29, 2011

room full of clothesExpress Inc., the specialty retail apparel chain, recently announced the launch of a new store design concept created by Japanese design firm Wonderwall. The new retail concept premieres at King of Prussia Mall on Wednesday, June 29th at 6:30 PM, with an invite-only event co-hosted by Michael Weiss, President and Chief Executive Officer and Masamichi Katayama, interior designer and principal of Wonderwall. To celebrate the opening, Express has made a generous donation to our Design & Merchandising, Fashion Design and Interiors Programs and has invited Westphal students to attend the opening event.

Created by Katayama, the new concept features design elements of refined chic mixed with unconventional edge and forward-thinking composition to create an individual space and sense of style. One of the most exciting parts of the new store will be the social media element of the environment: through interactive touch screen computer stations, customers can shop online and browse the Express Facebook page and Twitter feed, while mirrored video monitors in the front of the store and cashwrap allow for live streaming of Express fashion shows and events.
