Biography

Tara Giunta is a partner in the Washington, DC, office of Paul Hastings LLP and is a Vice Chair of the Investigations and White Collar Defense Practice which was recently recognized by the Global Investigations Review as 2017’s “Most Impressive Investigations Practice” and one of a handful of global “elite” FCPA practice groups. Ms. Giunta also serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Diversity Council and Co-Chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative. She advises clients and their officers and directors in high risk, regulated industries, on global compliance focusing on anti-corruption, data privacy and national security. Ms. Giunta performs risk assessments for global enterprises, develops comprehensive compliance programs, conducts internal investigations, and represents clients before U.S. enforcement agencies.

Ms. Giunta was recognized by Global Investigations Review in its inaugural edition of Women in Investigations list, which recognized 100 women across the globe who are “achieving great things in a competitive and notoriously tough area of law.” She is also Founder and Editor of the firm’s publication, Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Women in the Boardroom and speaks often on corporate governance, compliance and internal investigations, as well as on board diversity.

She serves on the Board of Visitors and is a Visiting Professor of the Catholic University Columbus School of Law where she teaches Conducting Corporate Investigations. She is an Honorary Director of Kidsave International; Co-Chair of Thirty Percent Coalition’s Public Policy and Outreach Committee; a member of the Advisory Council of Communities Thrive, a joint venture of IREX and READ Global; an International Boards Committee Member of DirectWomen; and a member of The Quorum Initiative, Women’s White Collar Defense Association, the American Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of DC, and the International Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. Ms. Giunta received her J.D. from Columbus School of Law, Catholic University, and her B.A., cum laude, from Tufts University.
