Dr. Shashi Goel
University of Wisconsin – Madison
Dr. Shashi Goel is specialized in political science and women and gender studies. She has done research in political sociology, international relations, women’s studies, human Rights, and migration. She is currently working as a Visiting Fellow in the Center for Women and Gender Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Previously she has worked in the middle east as visiting faculty at Qatar University.
Shashi was awarded by Indian Council Historical Research (ICHR), India for her PhD work and later in continuity she received the prestigious award by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), India for her work on gender budgeting and her Post Doctorate research. Her work has been published in various research articles, journals, and books, including a book on domestic violence against women. She is currently working on a gender budgeting book and doing research on women empowerment and household shares. She is very active in development and the academic field as well.
She is a member of various international organizations like: WILPF, Society of Gender Professionals, and Female Wave of Change. She uses these platforms as a tool to connect with grassroots movements and like-mind people who are devoted and interested in this work.
