Biography

Nina Russell is a policy advisor with experience in strategy, foreign policy, economic policy, and health policy. Russell is currently Legislative Aide for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where she conducts oversight and investigations. She previously served as Legislative Assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Assistant Speaker Ben Ray Luján. Russell has also worked for a former U.S. Assistant Surgeon General and performed award-winning work as a Deloitte consultant to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. 

Outside of work, Russell is a member of the Schwarzman Scholars Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board. She is also involved with the Women's Congressional Staff Association, Schwarzman Women, YaleWomen, the DC chapters of Young China Watchers (YCW) and NüVoices, and with the Defending Digital Democracy (D3P) at Harvard's Belfer Center. Since 2008, she has volunteered with numerous Democratic campaigns in policy and field roles. 

Ms. Russell received her Masters in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, where she was a Schwarzman Scholar, and her B.A. in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale University. She speaks fluent German, conversational French, basic Mandarin, and basic Spanish. She is originally from Charlottesville, Virginia.
