Jennifer Kmiec, of Middletown, Delaware is actively engaged in technology-based economic development efforts in Delaware. She is founder and co-chair of the Inspiring Women in STEM initiative that supports women in science and engineering careers and encourages girls to study science, technology, engineering and math subjects. She serves on the Technology Forum of Delaware board of directors, and on the external advisory board of the Delaware Small Business Technology Development Center. Jennifer is also the immediate past chair and was a founding board member of the Delaware BioScience Association. She was honored with the 2014 Delaware Bio Service Award.

Kmiec was previously the executive director of the Delaware Sustainable Chemistry Alliance, and the associate vice president for economic development at Marshall University where she led efforts to form the Bioscience Association of West Virginia and served as its vice chair. During her prior twenty years in the private sector, she held senior management positions in business development, marketing and operations at biotechnology companies in greater Philadelphia.

Kmiec holds a bachelors degree in biological sciences from Southern Illinois University and a masters degree in administration from the University of California at Davis.
