Meet Ebony!

Hello! My name is Ebony and I am a sophomore at Drexel University. I am majoring in Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. I am in the four-year, one co-op program, and I will complete this co-op during my junior year. I am from Baltimore, Maryland but my family is originally from Jamaica. I am also a first-generation college student.

Choosing to attend Drexel was personally an easy decision for me. It stood out compared to the other schools I was looking into. I love going to school in a city setting, because everything that I need is close by. Our campus is always busy and there is always something to do nearby. The co-op program was an obvious plus because Drexel is one of the few schools that incorporates a full-time job into their curriculum. Also, getting home to Baltimore is super easy since the Megabus and train station are so close by.

Drexel has helped me grow, and continues to help me grow, as a person and as a student

There are so many organizations to be a part of on campus. Currently I am the Vice President of the West Indian Student Establishment. We are an organization that aims to unite people of Caribbean decent on Drexel's campus and to educate the Drexel community about our culture and issues in our countries. I am also the Vice President of the Kappa Sigma Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. I also participate in and attend events held by various organizations on campus. These organizations have not only helped me to branch out of my comfort zone, but I was able to grow and acquire leadership roles that I usually would not consider.

I can definitely say that Drexel has helped me grow, and continues to help me grow, as a person and as a student. I am looking forward to new growth I hope to experience during the rest of my time here at Drexel.
