Content Guidelines

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for all content editing and creation. The content phase time requirements will vary depending on the nature and size of your project. The web support team will work closely with site editors to ensure that they are following the guidelines for best practices regarding:

  • SEO/Accessibility
  • Editorial Styles

Failure to follow editorial and accessibility guidelines when creating content will result in a prolonged review and revision period and potentially push back launch dates.

All content must be complete before the review process can begin. Sites will not be considered complete if they are using placeholder content.

Testing/QA - if it is the case that additional functionality or components are being developed for a web project it is the client’s responsibility under the coordination and direction of University Marketing & Communications to test and provide feedback in a timely manner.

Delays in required feedback may be reflected in the overall project timeline.

University Marketing & Communications Responsibilities

  • Building home pages (and other custom-designed section pages) based on approved design templates
  • Making changes to site structure based on an approved sitemap
  • Adjusting or creating site-wide styles (CSS)
  • Implementing advanced components

IT Responsibilities

IT may or may not be involved with developing additional functionality or components for a web project. These tasks will be included in the overall development schedule.
