Marissa is a senior Global Studies major, minoring in Public Health and Spanish. Her first international experience was through an Alternative Spring Break Program to Croix des Bouquets, Haiti. After that she did an international co-op as a Dornsife Global Development Scholar in Swaziland with World Vision, working specifically with menstrual hygiene. During her junior year, Marissa studied abroad in Costa Rica in the Health Care in Latin America program. Besides traveling and learning about other cultures, Marissa loves being involved in her sorority and other groups on campus. She believes that going abroad really changes a student’s perspective, and even if you are very involved on campus, you can make study abroad possible.
