Dragon Navigator Services
The strengths and resiliency of populations such as underrepresented minority college students add to the diverse culture of Drexel University. The Dragon Navigator Program is focused on building upon those strengths while also providing competence in new areas.
Mentoring and Coaching
Each new student will be matched with an upperclass mentor. Mentors are here to help you navigate the University and get you connected to the variety of resources offered at Drexel and within Philadelphia. Mentors can get you connected to resources that will get you closer to meeting your goals.
Through the Center for Learning and Academic Success Services (CLASS), you will have access to academic coaches who can assist you with development and strengthening of skills that promote resilience, confidence, and self-directed learning. Academic coaches will work with you on topics related to being successful academically, including study skills, time management, navigating Drexel, organization skills, test-taking, etc. Learn more about academic coaching.
We will be partnering with various offices on campus including Campus Engagement to offer leadership development opportunities. These will be designed to empower you as a future leader. While the workshops will be available to all, there will be required sessions that you will need to attend in order to become a peer mentor within the program. The leadership training will include, but is not limited to, an assessment of your strengths and structured team building activities.
The events and activities hosted by the Navigator Program are designed to highlight the students we serve. The programming will connect you with other like-minded students, expose you to thinking critically and culturally, and inform you of important processes to keep you on the path of being a successful scholar. We host monthly meetings for students and peer mentors to connect as a group.
