Mentoring is a large part of the success of this program. As of the 2018-2019 academic year, we will have the following cascade model:

Professional faculty and staff will mentor the upperclass students who will mentor the new students.

New Students

Are you a first-year student who is interested in getting connected to a peer mentor? Do you want to meet other like-minded students? Sign up to become part of the Dragon Navigator Program! Please make sure to complete the interest form. Upon confirmation, you will be added to the listserv, invited to the private Facebook group, and receive updates beginning in July with information on our summer engagement and Welcome Week opportunities.

If you are interested in being part of the Dragon Navigator Program for the 2018–2019 school year, complete the Dragon Navigator interest form.

Upperclass Students

Peer mentors must at a minimum be entering their second year at Drexel during the upcoming fall quarter. This is a volunteer position to allow for those on a local co-op assignment to still be able to participate. Participation will be 4–5 hours per week and includes connecting with your assigned student, as well as helping with any activities or events that are hosted by the program. There is an application and interview required for this position.

Professional Staff and Faculty

Current University faculty and professional staff can sign up to be navigators. Navigators are invaluable to this program because of the wealth of knowledge that can be shared with our new students. The commitment is minimal; navigators are required to meet with their assigned students at least two times a quarter, but you can always meet more often. Due to the overwhelming interest over the years, there is a short application that may be followed by a brief conversation to help us with pairing.
