Who is this program for?
The Dragon Navigator Program is for freshmen who identify as underrepresented minorities — African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander, etc. Invites for the program are sent during the early summer; however, students can opt to join after the school year starts as well. You can visit the Mentoring page to complete the program interest form.
How long is the program?
The events and activities planned are specifically designed to help you acculturate to the University and life in Philadelphia. You will have the opportunity to stay engaged with the program as an upperclass student by becoming a peer mentor.
Is there a cost?
No, there is no cost to be a part of the program.
When will I be paired with my mentors?
Mentor pairing will happen during mid-September.
How do I become a mentor?
You may apply to become a mentor anytime after your first year during the spring and summer quarters. Training will begin at the end of the summer quarter, with interviews taking place toward the end of the spring. Learn more about mentoring.
Do I have to be a previous participant in the program to be a mentor?
No. We do prefer that you are a sophomore or higher in good academic standing.
