COVID-19 Policies

Student Conduct is committed to helping the University's mission of maintaining a culture of health and safety on campus; in facilities, properties, and buildings; and in shared public places to protect ourselves, each other, and those in the community around us. We each make this commitment as Drexel University students, faculty, professional staff, trustees, officers, and all other members of the University community, including but not limited to campus guests, visitors, and third parties doing business or providing services on campus.

Failure to comply with any reasonable request or appropriate directive from a University official, or with any disciplinary conditions imposed by an authorized University official or group, is prohibited.

  • Failure to identify oneself or cooperate with campus safety personnel, residential facilities staff, or other University officials is also considered to be a violation of this Policy.
  • Additionally, students must comply with public authorities acting in performance of their duties.

Additionally, failure to comply with all COVID-19 protocols around health and safety, included but not limited to those listed on the Drexel Coronavirus site and the Dragon Pledge [PDF] is considered a violation of this Policy. As it relates to COVID-19 protocols, the University will address concerns and incidents on a three-tiered system. All alleged misconduct will be considered on a case-by-case basis. This list is not exhaustive but serves as an example of our three-tiered system. The University reserves the right to further sanction violations based on frequency of violation and seriousness.

Tier 1 violations include but are not limited to:

  • Failure to wear an appropriate face covering
  • Failure to adhere to quarantine/isolation protocols
  • Failure to self-report symptoms and/or positive results to the University in a timely manner
  • Failure to report for testing as directed by the University
  • Failure to participate in contact tracing protocols
  • Attending an event/gathering on or off campus as defined by the city and state

Tier 2 violations include but are not limited to:

  • Hosting an event/gathering on or off campus as defined by the city and state
  • Failure to adhere to mitigation strategies and guidelines as listed on the Drexel Coronavirus website
  • Intentionally/maliciously spitting, coughing, or sneezing onto/near an individual
  • Failure to adhere to quarantine/isolation protocols
  • Failure to participate in contact tracing protocols

Tier 3 violations include but are not limited to:

  • Failure to follow directives from the Student Health Center/COVID Operations
  • Failure to participate in contact tracing protocols
  • Failure to adhere to quarantine/isolation protocols
