Continuing Education Programs

The Athlete Leadership Development (ALD) online workshop is designed to provide coaches with an understanding of athlete leadership development and its importance in sport. Coaches will work on developing an athlete leadership development program to assess and review various athlete leadership plan examples. Participants who complete this one-day workshop will receive a certificate of completion.

Upon completion of this workshop, coaches will be able to:

  • Articulate the importance of developing leadership skills with athletes.
  • Identify the leadership skills most critical to develop in athletes.
  • Understand methods for developing leadership skills among athletes.
  • Compare and contrast current athlete leadership development programs.
  • Create a plan for developing athlete leadership on a specific team.

Meet the Instructor

Cameron Kiosoglous, PhD Sport Coaching Leadership at Drexel University 

Cam Kiosoglous, PhD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Sport Coaching Leadership Program Director at Drexel University. Cam was National Team and Olympic coach with USRowing from the 2002 to 2018 including the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. He also serves as the Chair of Education with the US Center for Coaching Excellence, Coordinator of Sport Science at USRowing and has worked with a variety of organizations in coaching development.
