Drexel University Mock Trial

Open to students from all majors, Drexel’s mock trial team competes throughout the region against teams from other colleges and universities. Students learn courtroom procedure and decorum, trial strategy, the Rules of Evidence, while honing their teamwork and public speaking skills. In 2010-2011, Drexel’s team is competing in tournaments at Penn State, Penn, UMass-Amherst, Ohio Northern and Cornell. The team is also hosting the Philadelphia Regional Tournament, one of several qualifying events for the American Mock Trial Association’s (AMTA) National Championship Tournament. In addition to competing in tournaments, the mock trial team organizes a tournament for area high school students and hosts a team retreat in rural Pennsylvania.
