The MD Degree Clearance Process

Degree Clearing is the process of reviewing student academic records to ensure that all degree requirements have been met and the subsequent conferral of the Doctor of Medicine degree. The following steps are part of degree clearance:

  • All 4th year grades must be in Drexel One. See webcampus for more information on the grading timeline. As a general rule, if a 4th year grade has been in DOCSS for more than 7 business days and still not in Drexel One, email QLCert@drexel.edu. Please make sure to include the year, semester and course number (e.g. SURG 8504S)
  • The Division of Clinical Education must review your record to ensure that degree requirements are met.
  • The Office of the University Registrar must review your record and award the degree. Once the degree is awarded, it will appear on your transcript with the date of conferral.
  • The Office of the University Registrar will email graduates, once awarded, with information on obtaining the 8.5” x 11” English version of the MD diploma that is used for licensing/residency requirements and the 17” x 14” Latin diploma. The Latin version is the one that is generally framed.
