Student Leadership Council on Climate and Sustainability

The Student Leadership Council on Climate and Sustainability is a dedicated group of students working in partnership with the Environmental Collaboratory to address climate and sustainability issues on campus and make tangible changes to Drexel initiatives and practices.

The goal of this leadership council is to present a student-led vision for how climate and sustainability topics could be addressed in the following six areas:

  • Events, initiatives and programming on Drexel’s campus(es) and at the Academy of Natural Sciences
  • Major and minor courses of study and classes (first year through graduate courses), as well as student advising
  • Student research opportunities made available through the STAR program, research co-ops, and other thesis, dissertation, capstone, and independent study projects
  • Career development, external co-op opportunities, and post-graduate employment leads
  • Outreach to the broader student population (current, prospective and admitted) to seed interest in the nexus between climate, sustainability and related justice and equity topics within campus academics and activities
  • Campus footprint (energy and climate, food and dining, waste, procurement, transportation, and buildings and facilities)
