Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce the 2021-2022 cohort of Provost Fellows. The Provost Fellows program provides exceptional faculty with an expansive range of leadership experiences while harnessing faculty expertise in advancing the goals of our University.

The following Provost Fellows have partnered with senior administration on individual projects to be conducted over the 2021-2022 academic year:

  • Christian Jordal, PhD, Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Counseling and Family Therapy
    Project: Assessing the University’s articulation agreements with community colleges and the University’s supporting infrastructure
  • Deirdre McMahon, PhD, Teaching Professor, Department of English and Philosophy
    Project: Analyzing current online undergraduate degree programs and creating best practices for the development of online and modality-neutral undergraduate degree programs
  • Franco Montalto, PhD, Professor, Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering
    Project: Providing leadership for the campus-wide programming of Climate Year and connecting Climate Year to ongoing initiatives such as The Environmental Collaboratory
  • Asta Zelenkauskaite, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Communication
    Project: Analyzing and improving upon the communication and branding strategy of the Office of Global Engagement

I would like to thank the leaders who have partnered with the Provost Fellows, including Rogelio Miñana, vice provost for global engagement, Shivanthi Anandan, vice provost for undergraduate education, and Lucy Kerman, senior vice provost for university and community partnerships, for their support of the Fellows and their projects. I would also like to thank Erin McNamara Horvat, senior vice provost for faculty advancement and undergraduate affairs, for leading the selection process, as well as all of the applicants, references and administrative leaders who participated in this process.
