Tartuffe
Wednesday, November 7, 2018
8:00 PM-10:00 PM
Directed by Peter Reynolds
By Molière, Adapted by Ranjit Bolt
In 1664, Le Tartuffe was banned because it presented a comedy where those who display the most piety prove the most corrupt. Mauckingbird, Philadelphia's professional LGBT Theater Company, in collaboration with the MPiRP, turns its lens on Moliere’s all-too-relevant play about duplicity and those who fall for it. An irresistible second wife, a son determined to wed his boyfriend, an all-seeing maid, and a sister who smells a rat all add to the merriment in Moliere’s timeless tale of unchecked hypocrisy.
