Application Requirements

The application deadline for the High School Scholars program has been extended. Please see below for details:

  • The online application must be submitted by Monday, April 6 at 5:00PM.
  • Supplementary documents (i.e. transcripts and recommendations) must be submitted no later than Wednesday, April 15 at 5:00PM.

  • Students must have completed 9th grade prior to applying to the High School Scholars Program. Please note: The earliest a High School Scholar would be permitted to take one (1) course would be during the Summer Term following 9th grade.
    While there are no minimum application requirements, strong applicants generally meet the following criteria:
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • PSAT or SAT score of 1200 (combined Math and Critical Reasoning) or ACT score of 24.
  • Priority given to students entering 11th or 12th grade

Application Materials:

  • Completed online application
  • Application essay (responses should be between 500-750 words)
    • Prompt: What do you hope to get out of your high school experience? How will participation in High School Scholars help you to achieve that?
  • Two (2) Recommendation Letters
  • Copy of high school transcript
  • Copy of PSAT/SAT/ACT official score sheet.
    • Students who do not have standardized test scores should contact the High School Scholars program at for more information.

  • Only CURRENT high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to apply at this deadline.

October 1st: Deadline for students to begin courses in the Winter or Spring Terms

  • Only CURRENT sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply at this deadline. Current high school seniors will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
