Steven Gu is a Graduate Research Associate at the Nowak Metro Finance Lab. His projects at the Lab focus on linking federal funding to equitable innovation district development. Prior to the Lab, Steven worked at the United Nations ESCAP in Thailand, was a US Fulbright Urban Planning & Sustainable Design Fellow in Singapore, and was a project manager at the Urban Land Institute in Washington, D.C.. His previous work experiences focused on the intersection of governance, accessibility, and the built environment in the pursuit of more equitable cities. Originally from Philadelphia, Steven holds a M.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Design in Urban Planning and a B.A. from Swarthmore College with honors in Urban Studies & Political Science.
